On July 31, 2021, as part of the M.T.O. Sustainability initiative, M.T.O. ShahmaghsoudiⓇ Vancouver Volunteers organized a park cleanup at Hastings Park for the International Day of Friendship. This event celebrated our friendship with nature and allowed volunteers and their friends to spend quality time together while engaging in a productive and environmentally friendly activity. Utilizing community resources, the event was organized through the City of Vancouver’s “Neighbourhood Clean Up Party” Program and the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, which provided cleaning equipment and information on cleanup sites. Volunteers spent 2-3 hours in the park, collecting a total of 11 kg of trash.
