M.T.O. Vancouver Commemorates World Refugee Day by Gifting Food and PPEs to 14 Newcomer and Refugee Families in the Community

  • Vancouver, Canada
  • June 19, 2021
  • M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Vancouver Center

To commemorate World Refugee Day, M.T.O. Vancouver Centre gifted boxes of essentials to 14 newcomer and refugee families in the Burnaby, Vancouver, New Westminster, and Richmond communities. By collaborating with local government officials, including MLA Anne Kang and MLA Janet Routledge, as well as community organizations, namely Burnaby Family Life, and S.U.C.C.E.S.S., M.T.O. Vancouver Volunteers were introduced to local refugee communities and provided with information about how to best support them. Based on this information, volunteers bought, packed, and delivered these boxes of essentials, containing non-perishable food items and facemasks handmade by M.T.O. volunteers, on June 19, 2021.
