  • M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Berkeley Center

On May 8, 2021, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Berkeley volunteers celebrate the end of Ramadan or Eid Fetr, and the holy birthday of Hazrat Mir Ghotbeddin Mohammad Angha, the 40th Sufi Master of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism®, by hosting the second annual food drive for UC Berkeley’s Bear Pantry. This pantry provides emergency food assistance to low-income UC Berkeley student families living in the University Village. Albany Mayor Ge'Nell Gary and a representative from the Mayor of Berkeley's office attended the event and expressed their appreciation of M.T.O.'s dedication  towards giving back and positively impacting our community. M.T.O. Berkeley's donation consisted of 3 tons of non-perishable food, delivered in environmentally sustainable, reusable shopping bags, and included peanut butter, canned fruit, rice, and other foods, 300 adult masks, and 100 children masks produced by the M.T.O. Berkeley center volunteers. The face masks included a flyer describing M.T.O.'s meditation and relaxation sessions available through the Tamarkoz® App and live on Instagram and Facebook. The Bear Pantry staff expressed their sincerest  gratitude for the donation of these essential resources .
