  • M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Los Angeles Center

On February 4, 2021, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Los Angeles donated 255 boxes of four cupcake packages, 900 face masks, 200 medical gowns, 150 face shields, and 70 care packages to the Motion Picture and Television Fund (MPTF), a soon-to-be COVID-19 Vaccination site. The MPTF, Hollywood-industry’s retirement community and a fully licensed acute-care hospital, is being uniquely honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for its “Pandemic-era work” at this year’s Oscars. Attending today’s event was a photographer from Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Michael Owen, District Director of Los Angeles Councilmember Bob Blumenfield. Afterwards, another 200 face masks, 100 medical gowns and 50 face shields were donated to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center.

February 4th is a special day as it is the birthday of Professor Sadegh Angha, who introduced Sufism to the Western world. All PPE’s are delicately hand-made by the MTO volunteers. Many of the hospitals and communities still desperately need personal protective equipment and so the volunteers of M.T.O. are grateful to participate in such activities. As COVID cases are particularly high in Los Angeles, people must stay vigilant in wearing masks and staying safe while vaccinations are being administered. The volunteers of M.T.O. are grateful to participate in such activities by providing much needed resources to those organizations and people in need.
