On January 30, 2021, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Sydney Centre kicked off the M.T.O. sustainability initiative in Australia and NZ by planting a Kaffir Lime tree at the North Turrumurra community gardens. These efforts were further continued on February 4, 2021, where the students planted an Australian native Myrtle tree in collaboration and partnership with the Baabayn Aboriginal Corporation, recognizing and celebrating the harmonious ways in which the Aboriginal peoples have always lived with their environment and have given back to nature. M.T.O. Sydney further expanded this initiative by partnering with Estia Health Nursing Home and Beecroft Nursing Home giving out flower seeds to members in celebration of the launch of our sustainability website.
