The M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Sydney Centre on July 31, 2020 celebrated one of the holiest days in the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha, by delivering thousands of essentials to low income youth-organizations, schools and families across 18 different locations in the Greater Sydney area. In continuing to help the community in the fight against COVID-19 and in collaboration with a number of volunteer and charity institutions, 2,349 food and care packages including non-perishable food and personal hygiene items, snacks, school supplies, toys and baby products were donated to those most in need within the community, and a total of 16,896 items were distributed amongst 1,211 families. In the main function at the Baabayn Aboriginal Corporation, the donations were handed over after a traditional aboriginal smoking ceremony and in the presence of the Mayor for Blacktown, Councillor Tony Bleasdale.
