M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Atlanta Center student volunteers celebrated one of the holiest days on the Islamic Calendar, Eid al-Adha, by coming together and donating to two local organizations that support children and their families; Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite Hospital, and International Rescue Committee Atlanta. The volunteers gifted the staff of Scottish Rite Children’s hospital with 100 reusable canvas bags each containing one hand-sewn face mask, one hand-made face shield, and healthy snacks. The entire staff was also treated to 150 individually packed catered lunches. Furthermore, the volunteers also gifted basic necessities to five IRC (International Rescue Committee) sponsored families in need; among the gifted items were diapers, baby wipes, coloring books and pencils, and building blocks. The volunteers also gave the staff at both organizations’ information pertaining to the free Tamarkoz Meditation App specifically designed to provide individuals with stress management and relaxation techniques during these trying times.
