In honor of Memorial Day and to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, on May 25, 2020, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Atlanta center donated 250 bags of groceries equal to an estimated 1000 meals, 150 personal hygiene bags, 100 fleece blankets in twin and queen sizes, 1000 surgical gloves, 112 hand sewn masks, and 85 healthy snack bags. The recipients of the donations were The Veteran’s Empowerment Organization and Shepherd’s Inn men’s shelter. Elected officials in attendance were State Representative Roger Bruce (District 61), his Aide John L. Sanders, Fulton County Commissioner Joe Carn, East Point City Councilman Joshua B. Butler IV, as well as Pastor Matt McGue of the Cumberland Community Church of Douglasville in attendance. The Sheriff representatives were gifted with healthy snack bags, while the city officials each received a basket containing surgical gloves, hand-sewn face masks, and M.T.O. Publications books.
