On May 25th, 2020 the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Vancouver Center joined all M.T.O. centers around the globe in celebrating the End of the Holy Month of Ramadan by donating 750 meals across 10 locations in the Greater Vancouver area. Deliveries of individually packaged meals that included a card with information about the Tamarkoz® App were made to the North Shore Women's Shelter, Raincity Modular Housing, Libby Lodge and Capilano Towers retirement homes, Muslim Care Centre, Friends of Carnegie, Burnaby Warming Centre, Battered Women Support Services, and more. Volunteers from M.T.O. were joined by Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley, Burnaby Provincial MLA and Minister of Child Care Katrina Chen, Burnaby Provincial MLA Raj Chouhan, Burnaby Provincial MLA and Minister of Citizens’ Services Anne Kang and Richmond Provincial MLA Teresa Wat for the deliveries in their respective jurisdictions. M.T.O. Volunteers also discussed collaborations with the MLAs and Mayor for the near future.
