  • May 25, 2020
  • M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® New Jersey Center

On this Memorial Day of May 25, 2020, the students of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® of New Jersey/New York, to mark the end of the Holy month of Ramadan, donated over 600 care packages between these two facilities; the Nutley Family Service Bureau and the YMCA of Elizabeth, NJ. Mayor Tucci of Nutley and the Nutley Police Department were in attendance; as well as Krishna Garlic, the Director of Health and Human Services for Elizabeth. The generous M.T.O. gestures were well received, and heartfelt appreciation was expressed by the recipient Directors present, both for the care packages, as well as the Tamarkoz wellness efforts that are offered virtually. The bags delivered consisted of healthy and nutritious snacks for the homeless and disenfranchised, seniors in need, and families of school children needing assistance. On the same day in New York, M.T.O. students donated 100 care packages to residents of Bethany House, the Police officers of the First Precinct in Baldwin, New York, and to police officers in Needham, MA. M.T.O. flyers introducing Tamarkoz app and Sufi Psychology courses were added and distributed with these lunch packages as well. Police officers truly appreciated these donations.
