On May 25, 2020, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Orange County center hosted an event marking the end of the Holy month of Ramadan and honoring our frontline heroes who have sacrificed so much on Memorial Day. The event was attended by Congresswoman Katie Porter and Council member Farrah Khan of the City of Irvine. M.T.O. Orange County had prepared close to 600 bags of groceries to donate to the veterans in need and the lower income communities in Orange County, California. The Congresswoman and the Councilmember both gave a very warm and touching speech thanking M.T.O. for its generous donations and community service during a very difficult time. Councilmember Khan also provided M.T.O. Orange County with a Certificate of Recognition for the center’s outreach programs in Irvine. At the conclusion of the speeches both the Congresswoman and the Councilmember helped load the bags of groceries into M.T.O. vans for deliveries. The media from KABC Channel 7 news, and KCBS Channel 2 news (which also covers KCAL Channel 9 news) attended and covered the event. Once all vans were loaded the students from M.T.O. Orange County delivered the grocery bags to the members of the community in need.
