The M.T.O. Sufi Association® was invited to perform a zikr and to give a presentation about Islamic Sufism by the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County at their Interfaith Celebration. This year's theme was compassion and the various groups presented prayers, poetry, songs, and stories to commemorate the occasion. We provided a presentation introducing Sufism, zikr (Sufi chanting), and the history of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism®. We performed the zikr of "Allah Hu" and a poem from the book Ghazaliat by Hazrat Shah Maghsoud Sadegh Angha as a finale to the interfaith gathering. It was followed by a reception where the members of each faith had a chance to mingle, ask questions, and learn more about one another.
