On May 14, 2020, the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Vancouver Centre delivered approximately 600 canned and dried foods, and 240 face masks, 30 hand-sewn scrub caps along with 25 Face Shield masks, and 67 individually packaged protein cookies to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Downtown Eastside Neighborhood House Food Bank, Eagle Ridge Hospital and Ridge Meadows Hospital. The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is the largest food bank in Vancouver and supports 8,500 individuals weekly in the Vancouver region requiring food assistance. The Downtown Eastside Neighborhood House delivers and gives out food to the homeless and low-income families in Downtown Vancouver. The staff were very thankful to receive this donation and expressed how this helps them maintain demand during COVID-19.
