M.T.O. Houston Donates Food Packages to Immigrant and Refugee Community

  • M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Houston Center

On April 25, 2020, the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® in Houston donated 150 non-perishable food packages to a predominantly immigrant and refugee community. The School of Islamic Sufism is grateful to Olive Branch Houston for connecting us to the community in a joint effort to battle the adverse physical and mental health effects of COVID-19 on one of Houston’s most vulnerable populations. Included with each food package was information regarding M.T.O.'s continuous efforts to help ease anxious minds and hearts through the Tamarkoz® app, live meditation sessions in various languages, and a course on Coping With COVID-19. Packaging and delivering the food was a labor of love, and recipients expressed their gratitude with smiles and joy.
