On June 2, 2019, students of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® participated in an interfaith retreat titled, “Nurturing the Seeds of Compassion: Monthly Interfaith Retreat.” This month’s retreat was directed towards Islamic Sufism and Universal Bestowal (Al-Rahman). Approximately forty guests attended the event held at the San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville, California. Among the guests were the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County, community members, and M.T.O. students. Guests enjoyed a full immersion in Islamic Sufism knowledge and practices. Through discovering and celebrating diverse faith traditions, this retreat reflected the principles of Universal Bestowal and of the manifestation of God within the human heart. The program concluded with a question and answer session.
