On the National Day of Prayer, May 2, 2019, the city of Plano hosted an interfaith event. The Mayor and City Council had invited citizens of different faiths to pray together in celebration of unity and diversity. The event began with the pledge of allegiance to the flag, followed by the city of Plano National Day of Prayer proclamation read by Mayor pro tem, Honorable Rick Grady. The program then continued with presentations and prayers by various religious organizations. M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Dallas/Frisco participated by reciting a prayer and hosting the interfaith reception.
