On the National Day of Prayer, May 2, 2019, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® participated in Mayor Eric Garcetti’s National Day of Prayer Breakfast at the Getty House, Los Angeles’ official mayoral residence. Mayor Garcetti had invited about 200 representatives of different faiths to pray together, celebrating unity and diversity of faith traditions in the city. This event included prayers calling for unity and peace led by representatives of Jewish, Muslim, Christian and other faith leaders; performances by Angel City Chorales; and speeches by First Lady of Los Angeles Amy Elaine, Los Angeles faith leaders, and Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti.
