  • M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Vancouver Center

On June 26th 2017, the youth and young adults of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® hosted an open house with the intent of sharing a Sufi perspective on Ramadan. The event had an attendance of about 100 individuals including police officers, school teachers, PhD students, co-workers, classmates, friends, and family - all from various backgrounds and religious beliefs. The aim was to introduce Islamic Sufism and explore the reality of Ramadan and Fasting as it has been learned at M.T.O. The program included youth presentations on the introduction to M.T.O and Islamic Sufism®, Ramadan and Fasting, Practical Sufism -- as well as musical performances. In order to share an aspect of what is practiced at M.T.O, the guests also had the opportunity to experience deep breathing and engage in live zikr. After the program, over refreshments, guests shared their overwhelmingly positive and peaceful experience at M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi®. Guests commented on the engaging presentations, emotionally-uplifting music, as well expressing gratitude for learning practices that they can implement in their own lives.
