  • Shadbolt Centre For The Arts

On March 23rd, 2019, the students of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Vancouver held an event at the Shadbolt Centre For The Arts in Burnaby, BC, titled “Norouz: A Sufi perspective”. Because the program was conducted in Farsi, Iranians from all walks of life, backgrounds, religions, and ages attended to obtain an understanding of Norouz and its traditions from the perspective of Sufism. The program was comprised of various segments including presentations on the philosophical significance of the “Haftsin”, a brief history of Sufism and the masters of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi®, with an emphasis on the biographies of Sufi masters from Hazrat Jalaleddin Ali Mir Abolfazl Angha to Molana Hazrat Salaheddin Ali Nader Angha. Other presentations included short introductions to the presence of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi in Vancouver and how Sufism has practical uses in our day-to-day lives. Live poetry readings with recitations from the works of Sufi masters along with live music and choir performances proved to be a crowd favorite. After the program, the guests expressed gratitude and delight to have taken part in this gathering.
