On January 12, 2018, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi in Dallas participated as a sponsor in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay & Oration Scholarship Gala. The event was supported by the Frisco Mayor Honorable Jeff Cheney, Frisco Mayor Pro tem John Keaton, State Senator Van Taylor, County Commissioner Susan Fletcher, other Frisco dignitaries, as well as local faith leaders and businesses.
