On November 10, 2017, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Dallas hosted a private visit for the mayor of Frisco, The Honorable Jeff Cheney, and his Chief of Staff, Lorie Medina. During this visit, volunteers shared information about the center’s green initiatives including onsite solar energy production, water well irrigation system, and other efficiency measures. During a tour of the building, the Mayor enjoyed viewing the Islamic Sufi art displays, and volunteers shared the symbolic relationship of the artifacts to Sufi practices and principles. After the tour, the Mayor and his Chief of Staff were offered refreshments during a discussion of M.T.O.’s previous community service activities and continued interest to work with the mayor to promote diversity and unity within the community. The Mayor responded positively to an invitation to attend the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi open house on January 27, 2018.
