On June 20th, 2017, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® hosted an interfaith gathering to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan. Individuals from different faith groups attended this interfaith gathering and learned about Islamic Sufism and its teachings. We formed interfaith discussion groups and shared about the practice of fasting and its physical and spiritual benefits throughout different faiths. As we joined the circle of zikr, our hearts rejoiced in love and found peace and joy in remembrance of the Beloved. Hazrat Ali (Peace be Upon Him) has stated: "zikr is the joy of lovers, the light, the growth and key of acquaintance." With presence of heart, we recited prayers of the Holy month of Ramadan and broke our fast and enjoyed delicious Persian food. We experienced an inspiring evening of sharing, learning and prayers as our hearts came together in unity to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan.
