On March 4th, 2015 there was a dinner held at the Omar Ibn Al Khattab Foundation in Los Angeles, where members of the F.B.I., including the Assistant Director-In-Charge of the Los Angeles Field Office was in attendance, along with members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office Young M.A.L.A.C. which also consisted of members of the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism®, along with various Muslim community leaders. The purpose of this meeting was to review and evaluate the achievements in the partnership between the Muslim Community and Law Enforcement thus far, and to identify the challenges and opportunities ahead in developing strategies and initiatives to counter the influence of extremist groups.
