On December 8th, 2016, students from the M.T.O. Shamaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® attended and participated in Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield's Holiday Open House. Residents of the district, including members of various religious and social organizations attended the event. Participants were encouraged to bring toys, socks, blankets, and canned goods to the gathering for children in need and clothes for the homeless. Students from M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® brought donations to the open house, and are gathering further donations from the school's members for the Councilmember's Holiday Drive for children in need and the homeless. The students of M.T.O. met various board members of Reseda Neighborhood Council and Councilmember Blumenfield, who has visited the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Los Angeles center. Students also met members of various religious and social organizations, and discussed organizing interfaith events.
