The 46th Annual Luncheon of the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee was held at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee, WI. Eight students of the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi®, School of Islamic Sufism® Chicago-Milwaukee Center attended this event and the main subject was the critical need for people of faith to know Wisconsin’s inspirational water heritage and to add their voices in safeguarding the waters we all depend upon. The event featured speakers followed by smaller table discussions with 8 people from different faith groups at each table. There were over 100 people in attendance from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, and Islamic faiths. Each person talked about their opinion regarding their faith’s response to water issues and how water and nature relates to spirituality. After the event, the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® students and the other attendees spoke with one another and processed what they learned at the tables.
