On November 5th 2016, the youth and young adults of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Vancouver gathered at the Vancouver Sufi center to host a youth-focused Open House. Their event, from Heart to Heart, had an attendance of over 70 individuals including their family, friends, and peers - all from various backgrounds and religious beliefs. Their aim was to introduce Islamic Sufism and to show the unbroken chain of Sufi Masters. Students shared their research and understandings of their Sufi Master’s, Hazrat Salaheddin Ali Nader Angha’s, teachings through delicate poetry, lifting music, unique Sufi practices, informative presentations, and an engaging skit. Presentations by the youth included topics such as the History of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism®, the Significance of The Holy Cloak, the Biography of Hazrat Pir, the Reality of Hijab, and the Reality of Jihad. The youth also gave the audience a glimpse into the practical aspect of Sufism, by introducing Sufi practices such as Tamarkoz®, expanding on The 13 Electromagnetic Centers, and presenting, as well as performing, the unique Sufi practice of zikr. The guests also had a chance to experience deep breathing and engage in live zikr with the students. After the program, over some tea and snacks, guests shared their overwhelmingly positive and peaceful experience at M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi®; guests commented on seeing harmony among the youth and expressed interest in the topics which were presented.
