In honor of the birth of Hazrat Mir Ghotbeddin Mohammad Angha (May 10th), M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Vancouver dedicated the weekend to celebrating children through two events. M.T.O. Volunteers hosted a day-long event in an effort to carry on the annual children’s day tradition which consisted of making art and crafts, a music workshop, and planting seeds in the M.T.O. vegetable garden and learning about M.T.O.’s sustainability initiative. The children and young adults also had the opportunity to create bonds and friendships amongst themselves over these activities. Children shared their personal enjoyment of the day and parents conveyed gratitude over seeing their kids enjoy themselves in Khaneghah in a different way from its usual sessions.

Over the same weekend, M.T.O. Volunteers were invited to the youth session of a neighbouring Ismalii centre to perform and share the Sufi practice of Zekr with their young students. The youth joined M.T.O volunteers in the Zekr circle and participated in a group Zekr, after which they shared their experience.
