On October 23rd, 2016, the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Chicago/Milwaukee center hosted an open house focusing on the True Face of Islam. The presentation was attended by more than 70 people, which included students of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi®, college professors and students, as well as members of the interfaith community. The evening program included speakers discussing topics on Sufism and Jihad, in an attempt to educate the audience on the facts and myths surrounding current misrepresentations of Islam, a Q&A discussion, and live Sufi zikr. The program continued with a traditional dinner, followed by guests receiving a complimentary copy of the book, “Peace” at the time of their departure. Many of the guests stated that they appreciated the open discussion and enjoyed learning about Islamic Sufism. Faculty members who attended voiced their desire to bring next semester's students as well.
