On July 10, 2023, the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® in Berkeley opened its doors to neighbors, community members, and representative of the Berkeley police department who had eagerly been awaiting the completion of the center's construction. During the open house, students presented a brief history of M.T.O., introduced Sufism, Khedmat(Service Based on Love), Berkeley and Global M.T.O. charitable work, round table discussions, and sustainability initiatives. Guests had the opportunity to actively participate in a Tamarkoz® session. In addition, there was a presentation about Zekr, the practice of remembrance, and guests were able to personally experience a live Zekr. The event included a lively Q&A session followed by refreshments.
