On April 20, 2023, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Vancouver Centre celebrated Eid Fetr in an all-day event, with over 100 volunteers and guests in attendance. M.T.O. volunteers began the day by preparing 255 tote bags with essential food items including rice, pasta, vegetable cans, soup, and others as well as handwritten notes. Community guests and government officials from the city of Burnaby were invited to enjoy the musical performances and presentations prepared by the volunteers. These presentations highlighted the true meaning of the Holy month of Ramadan as well as the activities and involvements of M.T.O. within the community, namely M.T.O.‘s Charity and Sustainability initiatives as well as the Tamarkoz® App. Volunteers ended the day by delivering the donation of approximately 3000 lbs of non-perishable food to the Burnaby Neighborhood House (BNH), a community funded and driven organization. M.T.O. volunteers were elated to have had the opportunity to gather together in person to celebrate this joyous occasion and were grateful for the opportunity to give back to their community through this charitable donation.
