On September 19, 2022, volunteers from the M.T.O. Berkeley Sustainability Department partnered with Save The Bay for a bay cleaning and planting event. Working at Martin Luther King Junior Bayshore Park, the M.T.O. volunteers planted 250 Yarrow plants, 450 Gum plants and gathered 5 pounds of tiny pieces of plastic, styrofoam and debris. This vital work helps to fight pollution and to keep our local bay environment healthy.
