M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® was invited to join an interfaith event held by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and the city's First Lady Amy Elaine Wakeland and the Getty House Foundation Board of Directors in commemoration of National Day of Prayer 2016. The event was themed, "City of Compassion: Lifting up Love and Service in Los Angeles" and was held in the Mayor's home at the Getty House on May 5th, 2016. There were approximately 100 people in attendance who were representative of the rich diversity in Los Angeles. As Mayor Garcetti highlighted the importance of hope, a prayer circle for Los Angeles was formed in which the following quote from Hazrat Salaheddin Ali was shared with everyone: "Hope is a seed planted in fertile ground that bears fruit.
