  • September 25, 2016
  • Los Angeles City Hall

M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® holds two board member positions at the Reseda Neighborhood Council. On September 25th, 2016, the annual Congress of Neighborhood Councils was held in Los Angeles' City Hall with over 800 registrations. Mayor Garcetti and Councilman Blumenfield were present. The mayor emphasized the important role of neighborhood councils in helping communities. He also spoke about the successful City program of the Welcome Home Project that has helped many people struggling with homelessness. During his speech, Mayor Garcetti said he attended a Sufi School in Reseda, (referring to M.T.O.), that had helped collect and organize many of the Welcome Home Baskets, and shared his heartfelt experience in personally delivering one of the baskets to a formerly unsheltered family. The congress was a productive and enjoyable event! We look forward to continuing work in helping our communities.
