On June 6, 2022, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Vancouver Sustainability Volunteers participated in a recycling drive where they dropped off 6 bags of recyclables at local waste management centres. Volunteers collected approximately 300 pieces at home over the duration of a few months, from which the accepted cans and bottles were dropped off at the North Vancouver Bottle & Return-it Depot of Encorp Pacific, a not-for-profit organization which aims to properly recycle items in order to avoid landfill or incineration. The remaining cans were dropped off at the North Shore Recycling & Waste Centre. The returned amount resulting from this recycling drive was donated to the MTO Sustainability Initiative, to fund future events.
