On March 3, 2022, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Vancouver Centre donated over 500 pairs of socks and 15 hand-sewn blankets to a local neighbourhood house. British Columbians have been experiencing a cold winter and in light of the extreme weather in recent weeks, MTO Vancouver Volunteers organized a donation effort in collaboration with the Burnaby Neighbourhood House (BNH), a community funded organization focused on supporting and helping community neighbours. The donated socks were given to MTO through a partnership with a local government official, MLA Anne Kang, who through previous collaborations trusted that MTO would gift them to those most in need. The blankets, on the other hand, were sewn by M.T.O. Volunteers through the repurposing and recycling of curtain and cloth materials, an eco-friendly effort in line with MTO’s Sustainability Initiative. BNH volunteers have expressed their gratitude for their continued partnership with MTO and look forward to distributing the donated items within the community in the upcoming weeks.
