On March 18, 2022, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Sydney Centre came together on a global day of action and celebrated International Nowrouz Day by giving back to their local communities on the eve of Persian New Year, by donating one hundred care packages containing non-perishable foods, essentials, and cleaning materials to those most in need within the community, particularly those affected by recent floods. In Sydney, Nowruz this year has unfortunately coincided with unprecedented floods that have affected the lives and livelihoods of so many. As such, students from the M.T.O. Sydney Centre were particularly focused on using this opportunity in reaching out to those affected in their local communities and being able to provide some much-needed hope and relief during this challenging time. The one hundred care packages were donated in collaboration with the Hawksbury’s Helping Hands and South Windsor Family Centre, and the donations were warmly received.
