On October 21st, 2015, The M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® in Chicago/Milwaukee was invited to speak at Saint John’s On The Lake as part of a 2 week-long series about the Middle East called “MOSAIC: Visions and Voices of the Middle East”. Two students presented on the topic “Sufism and Islam” followed by a description and live demonstration of zikr in English and Persian. This event was sponsored by Saint John’s On The Lake which is retirement home in Milwaukee, WI. After the presentation, residents and individuals from the public asked questions. Around 75-100 individuals were present during the presentation and several stayed behind for continued dialogue with students from M.T.O Shahmaghsoudi®. This was an exciting event where people had an opportunity to learn about Islamic Sufism.
