On February 5, 2022, in honor of the holy occasion of the Birthday of Professor Sadegh Angha, and the United Nations’ World Interfaith Harmony Week, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Berkeley celebrated by serving their local community through a donation of essential items to the Women’s Daytime Drop-In Center. This center focuses on providing a safe space, warm meals, counseling, and support to unhoused women and their children during the day, when most shelters are closed. Joined by Berkeley councilmember Terry Taplin, M.T.O. Berkeley donated 200 face masks along with 975 hygiene products and over 5100 non-perishable food items. All of the masks included a flier informing recipients about the Tamarkoz® App and the daily, live Tamarkoz® meditation and relaxation sessions. The staff of the Women’s Daytime Drop-in Center were very appreciative, and expressed that this type of community support is essential to their efforts.
