On November 25, 2021, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Vancouver Centre participated in relief efforts in the community by making a donation of over 350kg of non-perishable foods to a local food bank. The province of British Columbia was hit with floods and mudslides that resulted in devastating deaths and community distress. Many homes were lost and food supplies and access to necessities were limited. M.T.O. Volunteers looked into ways to support their community, and organized a non-perishable donation to a local food bank, Archway Food Bank, focusing on the flood response in Abbotsford. The non-perishable food donation included items that the food bank needed, such as canned meats and beans, rice, pasta, and other essentials. M.T.O. Volunteers expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to this relief response and their hopes for a better future for the community and environment.
