M.T.O. Chicago-Milwaukee Open House

  • Chicago-Milwaukee, Illinois and Wisconsin
  • March 13, 2016
  • M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Chicago/Milwaukee Center

As the Persian New Year was approaching, we saw this as a wonderful opportunity to introduce Sufism and our culture to our community. Therefore, on March 13th, 2016, the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Chicago/Milwaukee center hosted an open house involving over 80 people from different faiths and backgrounds. The guests included the Mayor of Caledonia, Chief of Police, college professors and students, along with members of the interfaith community. The program of the night included: presentations on the meaning of the Haftseen table, introduction to Sufism and zikr, followed by the performance of zikr. The agenda continued with a traditional New Year dinner and we concluded the night with questions and answers regarding Sufism. As the guests left, they were gifted with the book Sufism: A Bridge Between Religions as a means to show our new year tradition.
