On September 30, 2021, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Los Angeles celebrated “National Love People Day” and Sufi Master, Professor Nader Angha’s birthday by donating over 20,000 items of COVID-19 PPEs, backpacks, school supplies, care packages and hygiene kits to the homeless community. This event was a great collaboration with Santa Monica Police Department, which helped deliver the donated supplies. Over ten schools received the backpacks and school supplies, which include: Edison Elementary, Franklin Elementary, Grant Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Will Rogers Elementary, John Muir Elementary, Lincoln Middle School, John Adams Middle School and Santa Monica Alternative School House. Other items donated include supplies to The Children’s Lifesaving Foundation and hundreds of care packages and hygiene kits to The People Concern, as well as the food to the Salvation Army. M.T.O. gifted the Chief of Santa Monica Police Department a handmade traditional Iranian Sufi artwork of mirror mosaic, for all of the department’s help in outreach and the distribution of these essential items.
Today’s event was also celebrated by M.T.O. Sustainability’s partnership with Heal The Bay – Adopt-A-Beach program, in a beach cleaning effort. A dozen volunteers picked up thousands of pieces of garbage and cleaned up the most crowded portion of the Santa Monica beach. This was yet another celebration of all the teamwork, collaboration and the love the M.T.O. volunteers have in the community. Guests also were gifted with small plants as a further presentation of M.T.O.’s Sustainability initiative.
